I have been using Robinson's Cleaners for about fifteen years. I am still amazed at how clean my clothes come back. They have very friendly staff, and I get my clothes back in a very timely manner. I've enjoyed my experience at Robinson's Cleaners and I highly recommend you try them too!
06.08.12 (Friday): My husband receives a call that his clothes are not clean because the cleaning equipment allegedly broke and that if he wanted to pick up his (DIRTY) clothes before Sunday he would have to drive to the Gainesville store (22.3 miles out of the way) to where they were transferred. He asked to speak to the owner, who called back and stated that he would not bring the clothes back to the High Springs location "because he didn't have any drivers working" and then complained that he would personally have to spend all weekend fixing the broken equipment. When I called him to discuss the matter, he actually hung up on me.
We are currently in the middle of an exceptionally bad experience with Robinson's Cleaners and I wanted to share so that no one else has to subject himself/herself to such business practices and lack of professionalism.
I bought my son a souvenir T-shirt from our vacation a couple of years ago. It was his favorite. Well of course his favorite shirt is going to get ruined. He got spaghetti sauce all over it. At first I thought about throwing it away, but I was told to take it to a cleaners and let them try. I took it to Robinson's and it came out even after it had set in. Since then l have taken all of my dry cleaning there for years now, and I would not refer anyone to any other cleaners. The employee's are friendly and helpful. They always know me by name and always do a great job. I now have everyone I know using Robinson's for their cleaning.
I frequent RIP's and decided to try a dry cleaner closer to home. About a month ago, I brought in three of my husband's brand new, never before washed Columbia and Ralph Lauren shirts. To my dismay, I picked them up a size smaller. Yes, every one of them shrunk. The sleeves and shirt length are now too short and are all tight in the belly. So very disappointed. I'd ask that I be refunded the full amount of the shirts, but when I dropped the clothes off, the man in front of me was complaining that his shirts were wrinkled and they refused to rectify such a simple problem. I can't imagine that my magnified issue would stand a chance at being resolved. I should have walked out then, but gave Robinson's the benefit of a doubt. I am here to warn you, don't do it!
HORRIBLE! I brought in a 3 month old $200 quilt and told them to dry clean it because I was afraid to put it in my washer. When it came back from being "washed not dry cleaned" there was a tear in the seam. They then proceeded to call me a liar and said the damage was there when I dropped it off. They then sent it to "alterations " and charged me for the repair even though I had gone over the stitching when I dropped it off. The charge for the repair was minimal however he worst customer relations I have seen in years.
I understand that situations such as broken equipment occur, but the owner's incredibly rude attitude, complete disregard for our time, and abysmal customer service are completely inexcusable. It isn't our problem that his equipment failed; rather, it is his responsibility to fulfill the service his company promised, and if unable to do so, at least go pick up our clothes and bring them back to the location they were dropped off at. We will never do business with this company again, and hopefully after reading this review, neither will you.
06.06.12 (Wednesday): My husband drops off his clothes in High Springs. He is promised that his garments "would be ready Friday, by the latest Saturday." He agreed that this was okay and added that he definitely needed them by Saturday because he was going out of town Sunday morning.
