The grounds are beautiful. It is on a large property on the outskirts of town. There was a deer grazing about 30 ft from us as we walked to our car. There is a large front porch with seating attached to the rooms - a great place to enjoy your morning coffee (that you can make in the privacy of your room). And it is not a typical bed and breakfast: you get your own bathroom & no eating with strangers! You get the breakfast in your room. It is basically a continental breakfast, but you can make oatmeal in your microwave and you have milk and juice in your fridge. (We ate our leftovers from the tasty Fleetwood Diner for breakfast.)

I stayed here recently to explore Springs in the area. I was plenti pleaded with everything, included the deer in the back. Will be back soon.
I stayed at the Rustic Inn in October 2015 when I was there for the Lubee bat festival. It was clean, quite, well equipped and affordable. The owners care about their place and pass the caring to the customer. It is also very centrally located to a lot of great parks and rivers to paddle. Only 30 minutes from Gainesville museums as well. High springs, where the Inn is located, has some great places to eat. Don't miss Alice's restaurant for breakfast,(best biscuits ever), and Great out doors cafe for Dinner or lunch and good craft beer. Go get some Florida on ya.
I could not recommend the Rustic Inn enough! If you like antique shopping or natural springs - book a room there and spend a day in High Springs!
I found the Rustic Inn via the AAA website while looking for a cheap(er) place to say on a trip to the FL panhandle from Orlando. I visited the website and was hooked when I saw the Panda Room (and the rates!). I booked the room immediately.
The Panda Room is the greatest room I have ever stayed in. The room is large, the bed is comfortable, and everything we needed was in the room. We were the only guests (mid-week in a colder-than-usual FL winter), so it was like renting a private house.
The owner is AMAZING!!! He was so genuinely nice and concerned with us enjoying ourselves. He told us everything about the town and knew the details of every restaurant and activity. He was not sure what movie was playing, so he called the theater for us while we grabbed our bags! My boyfriend asked if they had internet and he said, "No, you're supposed to come here to relax!"
