Place was nice. Campsites packed in on top of each other. The host was super rude, almost to the point of harassment. We were the only people there (on that side of the loop, about 50 sites) yet was told that we parked to far out of our particular site, so we moved. Then back again to tell us our hammock was set up to close to the neighboring site. THEN he came back again to tell us we had collected to many stray sticks to start our fire, we needed to buy it from the office. It was so bad that the wife and kids decided to just leave. I stayed after complaing to the front office, but promptly left the next morning..AGAIN we were the only family on that side of the loop. Rangers were great! The host was a total douche. Wont be going back!
Went camping there for a week and had a great time, the camping lots are very well-kept and the park had lots of helpers and security. Overall beautiful location
We love this place. Rented the group camp area and pavilions for our wedding and it was perfect. Everyone loved it. Great hiking, its a beautiful park. Very clean and very friendly..
Great place to take time and rewind. Good for camping also if you like primitive camping. No swimming areas because water is high and that water doesn't look good enough for it not to mention alligators swimming in area. Not a lot of trails but enough to get good miles in nature. Just remember bug spray for sure. Lots of mosquitoes and plenty of ticks to check for after.
Everything was awesome except for the one douche self proclaimed "camp host". As he walked his schnauzer passed my campsite my shih tzu puppy bolted out of the car to play with his dog. I sent my 9 year old to retrieve the puppy immediately and i guess she wasn't moving fast enough. Guy started using some kinda drill seargent voice saying "you need to get your dog!" I asked if he could just pick his dog up and he started power tripping even more stating he is the magnolia campground host and you need to put your dog on a leash. Sounds minor I know but it was all I could do to deescalate the situation/confrontation myself. They need to review his contribution to the otherwise friendly atmosphere.
